We, at Dorman Smith understand the responsibility of contributing to and developing the engineers of tomorrow.
As part of an initiative launched by the Dorman Smith Academy, we conduct Industrial visits for students comprising seminars on pertinent Engineering topics and practical orientation sessions in our facility.
Industrial visits are a critical component of engineering undergraduate programs as they bridge the divide between theory and practice. They give students an exposure to current work practices, thus helping them connect theoretical concepts learnt in class to their practical applications.
In the month of November, we welcomed students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department of BITS Pilani Dubai to our facility. The Industrial visit was attended by 30 students led by Mr Shubhankan Mukherjee, Chairperson Association of Electrical Engineers, BITS Pilani Dubai.
The visit began with a short presentation by Mr Ganesh, GM Sales Dorman Smith MENA, on the main parts of an Electrical Power system and importance of Switchgear in Power systems. This was followed by a factory tour conducted by Mr Mikel, GM Engineering Dorman Smith MENA.
